Cause: Late night Swan Lake rehearsals, particularly second and fourth act.

Symptoms: Although not as exclusively as with the Revenging Wili disorder, the Swan Stress disorder is also mostly affiliated with female dancers. Reality-confusion is reported, patients compulsively move they arms as if they were wings, sometimes followed by sudden performance of series of repetitive arabesque’s. In some acute cases the dancer might be affected by phobia of owls, regarded by the patient as evil.

Cure: The only known, lasting cure for this disorder is finding the patient a true, loving prince that won’t betray her (or, in special cases, him). This has proven hard in many cases, and researchers are still working on alternative solutions. Roles in other ballets has shown to help, but may also lead to further personality-confusions on a long-term base.

The SSD can harden the patients life severely. Four young ballerina’s had a day off, and was going to the mall to celebrate. Unfortunately, SSd wanted it another way. Several bus-routes in London were late that day, as the four swans refused to move until someone stated their undying love to them. Photo by Ian Gavan/Getty Images All rights reserved
