Testimonials

From time to time, I receive feedback on the blog which I am both flattered by, and proud of! When thinking of what these people add to the dance-community every day, both on stage and in the written form, it makes for an even better testimonial. It is with great humbleness I present you with some of the great responses given to my work here at Tights and Tiaras.

Catherine L. Tully, owner and editor of 4dancers.org

Henrik is a dedicated, talented artist who has the ability to share his love of dance with everyone. As the author of Tights and Tiaras, he creates engaging copy that is a joy to read and he has a wonderful personality that shines through in his writing. Henrik has enthusiasum enough for ten people and a gregarious personality that is fun and witty, all at the same time. He has created a great resource for the dance community

Nichelle Strzepek, creator and editor of DanceAdvantage.net

Henrik is passionate about dance and this shows in his work at TightsandTiaras.com, where he blogs about the life and craft of dancers, as well as his experiences in the ballet world. He is friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic – eager to share what he knows and open to learning new things which are great qualities in a blogger. I’m happy to have encountered him within the online dance community.

In december 2010, Tights and Tiaras was nominated, and later WON the “Top Dance Blog 2010″ competition, hosted by DanceAdvantage. More than 1000 people voted on their favorite blog on dance online, and when the fat lady sung, Tights and Tiaras had more votes than any other blog in the competition.
To be nominated for the competition, all the blogs gathered comments on a specific post. While it was only the number of comments that mattered in the competition, some of the readers left some really nice words as they voted, and I figured I’d share some of them with you guys here:

You are an amazing role model for up and coming young male dancers! Thanks for giving us the truth but with a lighthearted laugh! Keep it up : )

I like your blog because you write about interesting topics for people who want to know more about dance, but also for those who actually live their life the way you describe it – more or less… Also, your posts are funny and yet instructive! So keep on writing, I’m waiting for your next post!

A few months ago, all I knew about ballet could have been summed up inno more than 8 sentences. Then I got this niggling story idea with a main character who’s a (male) ballet dancer. Stumbling about on the internet for initial research I found this blog and after reading just a couple of posts I was hooked – it’s now one of the websites which has a permanently open tab that I refresh at least once a day just to make sure I don’t miss anything!

Well without you and David at BalletForMen I would never have started dancing – never gotten the courage to give Ballet a shot. Without that I would never have met so many amazing people in the Ballet community offline and online (yourself included). And without that I would never be where I am now – 3 months into Ballet classes, loving every minute and taking 4-5 classes a week. I’ve found something I’m passionate about and enjoy.So. Um, yeah. You and your blog are kinda amazing!

There is a large of choice of ballet blogs to choose from these days. I have been around reading one and then another. I like this blog because, when I read your posts and when I comment and then you reply to my comment, I almost feel like we are or could be in the same ballet studio together.
